About SASSI

Our History

SASSI began July, 2001, as the first private non-diagnostic laboratory in Lehigh County.  SASSI was formed to provide drug screening services for the Lehigh County Departments of Probation, Pretrial Services, Office of Children and Youth Services, and the Office of the Court Administrator.  Since 2001 SASSI has been moving forward and making many breakthroughs powered by cutting edge technology and employees that are inspired to make a difference.

Growth & Expansion

On September 3, 2001, SASSI opened with three referrals and portable drug testing kits, some used furniture and one PC.

Within 6 months, referrals had grown exponentially and negotiations had begun for a data management system and an automated analyzer for testing. Contracts expanded to include private sector employers, off site collections became available, and payroll expanded to include six fulltime and one part time employee and a satellite office in a neighboring county.

By the fifth year, SASSI's continuous growth and expansion required a move. Services expanded to include offsite collections.

Today, SASSI has grown from its humble beginnings to a state-of-the-art laboratory with cutting edge technology and a comprehensive staff.  Three certified laboratory technicians and operators, a quality assurance manager, general manager, CEO and ten reception and service personnel assure accuracy, superior service and the highest standards in a comfortable and confidential setting.

The SASSI Vision & Mission

SASSI is dedicated to the concept that drug screening is a tool, which can be used to improve safety and productivity in business and industry as well as our community.  Drug screening can assist in early identification of substance abuse and addiction, or alcoholism, and supports recovery for those suffering from addiction.  SASSI is commited to providing that tool with the highest quality of services.
